This bathroom had an outdated small fiberglass corner shower. We designed a modern updated bathroom with a comfortably larger shower. The half wall makes the shower feel larger and offers a useful sill that doubles has a shelf area. We installed lower footrests to facilitate leg shaving with comfort and ease. For a small bathroom, the vanity is wide and delivers a spacious counter top with base cabinets that feature a large hamper. The modern looking oval mirror is flanked with side sconces to offer better lighting (coming from either side) instead of a single overhead light. The white vanity preserves the colonial look of this west Hartford home and the light color shower tile makes the walls recede, visually expanding the space and brightening the entire bathroom. The basket weave tile shower floor offers a combination of retro 50’s style with the classic colors of a more traditional bath, giving the bathroom a rich fusion of classic and contemporary/retro styles.
